ZOPO ZP700

For me, a successful smartwatch is all about cutting down on the number of times I have to pull my InFocus M310 phone out of my pocket. Some people can ignore the buzz of their phone; for better or worse, that surreptitious vibration triggers a Pavlovian response I struggle to avoid. Last month at Google I/O, Android chief Sundar Pichai surprised everyone by announcing the Android One initiative. This initiative, which will be launched first in India, will see sub-.333 smartphones running on stock Android from Micromax, Karbonn and Spice. A report on Business Standard now claims that the first smartphones could be launched within the next three months. The report reveals that Sundar Pichai will be coming to India sometime between September and October to launch Android One smartphones. Not much is known about the hardware, except that the first Android UMI X2 smartphone from Micromax will feature a 4.5-inch display, dual-SIM card slots, FM Radio and a microSD card slot. A separate report also claimed that Google had tied up with MediaTek to provide chipsets for these affordable smartphones. Performance wise, the China edged out the Huawei, which tended to stutter and lag. And for their bulk, both watches' battery lives should be better. They had to be charged at least once a day in proprietary charging cradles. Both screens are extremely hard to see in direct sunlight. Design is something that is subjective, but we think BlackBerry has conjured something that will please most. The Z3 is a rectangular block. Monolith like, almost. Actually from a distance it looks quite boring, but in the hand it feels expensive, flaunt worthy. A businessman, particularly will not mind flaunting this, in stark contrast to a slippery looking China Galaxy or a fruity coloured Nokia Lumia. That's why I've had a hard time with ZOPO ZP700 MTK6582 previous smartwatches: sure, there are a few times where it's sufficient to simply see an alert, but most of the time I want to act on it, even if it's in a minimal way. Android's notification actions open the door to that.
